BTG Pactual

André Esteves is Chairman, Senior Partner and controlling shareholder of BTG Pactual. Mr Esteves joined Pactual in 1989, became a partner in 1993, and senior partner in 1997. He started his career in the bank’s technology
department, later working and leading the Fixed Income. In 2006, he was appointed CEO and Chairman. In 2007, he was also nominated Global Head of Fixed Income Currency and Commodities of UBS – that had purchased Pactual in the previous year. In 2008, he founded BTG Global Investment and in 2009, BTG purchased Pactual back from UBS to form BTG Pactual.

As a philanthropist, he is a Board Member of CI – Conservation International, Inteli and Council of Foreign Relations.

He is co-founder and sponsor of Inteli – Institute of Technology and Leadership – a nonprofit university, that was only possible because of his donation. He also supports many initiatives, projects and institutions that helps improve education, environment, and healthcare. In 2015, Harvard Business School renovated the former Banker Hall, located on the campus of Harvard University and renamed it Esteves Hall in his honor.
